2014

I crossed out an item in my 2014 list - Own a Katagiri bag.

Since I first laid eyes on his creations, I made it a personal goal to purchase even one of his bags. This afternoon, I hit two birds with one stone - (1) I claimed the bag I promised to buy for myself as a belated Christmas present and (2) I met the fabulous designer himself, Mr. Ron Katagiri.

Ron thought about creating an affordable line of bags, thus the Katagiri Convertible Tote Bag was crafted.

This limited edition line (with only 40 pieces manufactured, 36 sold, and mine being the latest, came straight from the talented bag makers of Marikina 😉) is made of cotton twill fabric with faux leather.

One of the perks of meeting up with Ron was getting a personal demonstration of how, just by flipping the flaps, you will be able to come up with 4 different looks out of the bag.

For a view of the many wonderfully unique Katagiri bags, you can check Ron's website at www.japaneseadobo.com, or his Instagram account @japaneseadobo. He will personally answer your questions.

As of now, he does not yet have a physical store so he either meets up with sure buyers or lets a courier handle the delivery.

Let us show our support to this young and brilliant mind who aims to help revive the bag industry in the country.

Own a Katagiri bag now!
